We provide standard and express shipping for most destinations. We are currently offering free standard shipping worldwide.

All shipping services are insured. TOINO ABEL is responsible for all shipments until the moment they reach you. Problems are easily solved with DHL Express, as they normally are efficient.

We highly recommend that you use your work place address to make sure the package is received and collected on first attempt. Phone number is required.

Regardless of shipping type, all objects will have a tracking number that you can trace. Once your order is shipped we will send you a fulfillment message with the tracking number and courier company.


All shipments are delivered through DPD-group or DHL Express. Transit time is 3 to 8 days and 1 to 2 days, respectively.

We offer two shipping options to most popular destinations: DHL Express and Portuguese Post. Transit time is 1 to 2 days and 5 to 15 days, respectively. Some destinations are not eligible for DHL Express shipping. On the other hand, deliveries to Brazil, Turkey and Kuwait are only sent through DHL Express (a free standard option is unfortunately not available for these destinations).

When shipping your bag to a non-EU country, individual customs or tax charges can’t be included in shipping charges. You are liable to pay any inbound duties, taxes and customs charges which your local customs authority deems appropriate. If you want to declare these costs in advance, please contact your local customs authority office to get up-to-date information about the exact import fees.

As our production is rather small, our team selects very carefully the shops we sell to throughout the world. If you wish to have our basket bags at your shop, please fill-in our wholesale form.

Refund Policy, Right to Return

You can return your TOINO ABEL bag in its unused or original condition within 14 days. All returned bags must be returned in perfect conditions with all pieces included, merchandising and invoice. Upon receipt and verification of the bag, the purchase price will be immediately returned to you. We do not refund shipping costs. Return fee is 9 EUR per order.

Very important: to avoid problems with customs, always mention very clearly that it is a return and add a copy of your invoice outside the packaging with RETURNING OBJECT written clearly visible. 

You can choose from the two following options:

Option 1. We can send you a return waybill and you deliver it to SEUR, DPD or DHL. Import have the following costs and will be discounted on your refundable amount. This option is only available to most popular destinations.

Option 2. You can return your order with a traceable courier of your choice. Please mind that we do not take responsibility for lost objects dispatched by you. To avoid problems at Portuguese Customs clearly write that it is a RETURN and place a copy of your invoice outside the packaging. Returns stopped at the customs because of not clearly mentioning that it is a RETURN, will most certainly not be claimed and will be sent back to you.

Exchange Policy

TOINO ABEL doesn’t accept exchanges. However, if you want to exchange your bag for another size, color or feature please return it and place a new order. 

Availability and Delivery Period

Our basket bags are available online through this website or on-site at our premises. You can also buy TOINO ABEL bags in a few small boutiques and selected resorts. Find our stockists here.

All bags available on our website are in stock and ready to be shipped. Shipment will be immediately made after the receipt of your payment. Processing time is 1 to 2 business days. If you have a deadline, please let us know on the buyer’s note field at check-out.


Your TOINO ABEL basket comes with a two-year guarantee from date of purchase. Naturally, after the guarantee period has expired, TOINO ABEL will remain a reliable contact for everything regarding your bag. TOINO ABEL offers ongoing service and maintenance at fair prices.


Cleaning: Brush gently. Add a few drops of oil* to a cloth and wipe the body and handle gently, avoiding the leather parts. *Any wood hydrating oil, mineral oil or beeswax will do.

Maintenance: Every two months or whenever needed, repeat the steps above.

Storage: Before storing, clean your bag. Keep it in a dry place. If stored in a humid place, mould (fungus) tends to appear. This is normal since it is a natural material. If this happens bring your bag to a dry place and wait 2 to 3 days. Then remove the mould (fungus) by brushing it gently.

Nude leather only: Nude leather was not dyed and will get tanned with sun exposure and over time, very much like our own skin.

Reed is hard to dye and color fixation is still being researched. Prevent color transfer to your clothes by avoiding contact with light colors. The loss of color may be more intense in the first few uses. Slowly the bag stops losing color. Should it stain your clothes, note that it can be easily removed with regular washing.

If well cared for our bags tend to get a charming natural shine with time (patina). Every bag is intrinsically unique due to its handmade nature. Irregularities are normal and part of its aesthetic quality.
